We are having a frugal Christmas this year as DH is starting a business, so I have been looking for ideas for homemade presents.
A friend of mine told me yesterday of a wonderful idea she had some years ago. Her father used to do some very long drives for his work. So she recorded the whole of a literary classic he'd never read but had always wanted to (Dante's Divine Comedy, not my first choice, but hey...). She worked at it for months, recording late in the evenings, after work. So he got the yawns on tape as well, but that makes it even lovelier! It was an unforgettable present for him.
Has anybody else made or heard of wonderful presents like this?
