Could someone check my maths?

I am insulating a barn with straw bales - they are 2 ft wide.......

I would loose 2 ft all round

My floor area would drop from 30 by 60 to 26 by 56 that's a lot of floor (I think)

from 2700 sq ft to 1456 sq ft

Is that maths right - it neaarly halves the floor area?

30 by 60 is 1800 sq feet

No, it will drop from 1800 sq ft to 1456 sq ft.
