can you come up with any ideas, absolutely anything that might entertain a 10 and 7 year old during the everlasting summer holidays.

thanx

Don't know off the top of my head but will come back when I can give it some thought.
But just wanted to say great thread and can we all just list ideas for children oif any age and then we can all dip in and out of it during the holidays when we need inspiration.

What about a disco dance teaching video (not sure if it exists mind) - most kids seem to like to have a bop. Might give them something to do for an hour.

Do some gardening? (I've just planed tomatoes with mine)
Also cooking

Their stacks of toys, their garden or local park and their imaginations.

Look at this credulous parents forking up £250 to keep their darlings amused

My contribution is: have a book on the go that they really want to read. (Whether you read it to them or the older one reads to the younger each day.) We're doing Harry Potter at the mo and it's also proving a good discipline tool - "no full chapter of HP if you don't stop that whingeing... extra couple of pages if you do x"

I agree Cal.
It's a bad move to lay on too much for them. They end up demanding more adn more and being less and less satisfied.
Being bored is good for them-engenders creative solutions.

I took my two to the cinema today. They have a kids club movie on everyday at 11. Parents get in free. We saw Ice Age 2 which we hadn't seen before. The guy couldn't work the ticket machine or there was a blip and he put us through for £1.95. For once I was well organised with juice and snacks.
