URGENT ADVICE NEEDED - HOW DO I HANG CURTAINS?

Sad I know - but I've never hung curtains before. I'm sitting here with my curtains on the bed and need advice. Do I "pull" the cords until the header is "pinched" and tie them or do I do something different?

pull the cords till i get the gather u want on them. then put the hooks in.

Is that the gather when they're open or closed?

closed. make sure u dont pull them too tight other wise u wiont be ablt to shut the curtains.
