Yes, normal and nice, DD2 v sweet (I like DD1 too you know!) and great with kids, DSS a lovely lad. I would have been happy to have him here but couldn't find him a job - although would he be any use at erecting marquees do you think, gggl? It's what DS1 is going to be doing, long hours and they need to be strong but the money is supposed to be excellent, I could ask if they could use a 17-yr-old French boy for a few weeks (his English is pretty good, isn't it?)

PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE. Am in deep panic mode. He is as strong as un ox (I imagine) and would be great at marquees; in fact he is an expert marqueer - or would be, given half the chance. I was going to ring you about this, and beg.....

I am not coming to the UK. I wanted my teenagers to have a holiday away from us, using their English and gaining a bit of independence and a little money - rather than just coming over and having a holiday. It is easy to find friends for them to stay with, I really want them to do something.

Dates are as of next week till end of August for dss, or any dates therein....

Well DS won't be starting until late July - he is in Spain until next Thurs and then will be doing his D of E's gold expedition the week after, I think he plans to start work the week of Mon 24th.

I'll be speaking to him later so I'll check his dates and ask if he thinks I should ring marquee man or if he should when he gets back.

I could have maybe had your dd2 for when baby arrives (due 13/8) as we have dd too so the extra pair of hands would have been good but dh has alot of leave from work so by the time it runs out they'll be going back home!

Would have been good though!

I'm sure there must be someone who wants some help.
