A little Mornington Crescent - anyone care to join in?

I just fancy a change of focus.

I'll jump right in with Great Portland Street - I think I'm entitled to do that, with it being beyond the autumn equinox, but before Halloween?

Any takers?

Thank you, Goddess. The eggnog and the return to decorum are both much appreciated.

MORNINGTON CRESTENT !

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 26/12/2013 11:13

Well done, MiniMonty! Excellent use of the 36 hour rule and, if I'm not mistaken, Gribworth Fintington 1953.

Mornington Crestent? WTAF

Really, although extremely bold the move seemed legitimate to me.

AlbertGiordinHoHoho · 26/12/2013 22:30

Challenge Hoho to monty, under the misspelling rule of the Pedants Amendment - Crestent

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 26/12/2013 23:34

Ouch!

MiniMonty · 27/12/2013 02:52

Damn and blast !
That's just an opportunity horribly missed through the very slight overuse of Cotes du Rhone before midday... Misspelling Pedants amendment has completely got me and I'm clearly in Nidd so now it's wide open.

MooncupGoddess · 27/12/2013 07:59

Ah, Monty... a lesson to us all. In these unusual circumstances I believe I can draw on Penicuik-Featherstone (1879 edition) and slither across to

Finchley Road

Pan · 27/12/2013 10:20

And looking to the nativity star, we follow it to see it rising in the East Finchley.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/12/2013 10:25

Ah now, you see, I thought the Misspelling Oedants amendment was void on Christmas and Boxing Days, for bibulous obvious reasons, so I was prepared to let that go. Anyway, I'll go with the majority view here and play

Goodge Street

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/12/2013 10:27

Argh. Pedants.

As a PS. I gave just booked tickets for the family - including my junior assistant - to go to see ISIHAC and am looking forward to seeing the lovely Samantha.

Just chipping in to get the game back onto a firm footing...

Mansion House

Pan · 28/12/2013 14:35

and a clear switch back manouvre takes us onto
Swiss Cottage

MooncupGoddess · 29/12/2013 22:32

Neat. I'm going to redouble and loop the loop to Aldgate.

Pan · 30/12/2013 15:30

Thanks for the cue Moon - Aldgate surely takes us to

Heathrow Terminal 5

Pan · 30/12/2013 15:34

and exercising the double-shift from Bartlett's Edition, we move easily onto

Mile End (the prospect of nidd was too much of a risk, if you don't mind)

Pan · 30/12/2013 15:41

(in some editions players are required to 'show workings out' which seems a bit demanding - but here I'd connected the gates move to the airport, but also took the triple lateral move to incorporate the aircraft/gate, mile-high club AND the element of 'ending'. Hope this is acceptable in this edition. Open to challenge.)

AlbertGiordinHoHoho · 30/12/2013 16:08

Pan ... some of the play on this thread is of a very very high standard and whilst such explanation is of use to some of our less able players, it is not required.

A double move is an interesting development.

I shall continue the denouement with a inter-dimensional splice to Paddington

Pan · 30/12/2013 16:14

ah, thank you Albert - I'd picked up on the level of sophistication and tbh some moves left me feeling rather envious with my nose put out. So from Paddington I'd propose

Parsons Green

AlbertGiordinHoHoho · 30/12/2013 16:19

as the kids say. that is a well sick move blud.
