the drama for today was...

water pouring through the kitchen ceiling during a massive thunderstorm today.We have spotlights set in the ceiling and the water was pouring through them and there is a massive crack-already brown with water bubbling through it.
phoned the insurance people who basically said there was nothing they could do.have checked the policy and it does say that we are covered for damage by storms, so don't know what that was all about.
will have to phone again tomorrow, and also try and get a roofer round etc.
i hate this house.there is always something going wrong with it.sometimes i really wish it would burn down one day while we were out.

well phoned them this morning and they said to get a roofer round to have a look, and if he says it was caused by the storm then we are covered, and then they will think about sending someone round to look at the electrics and the big crack in the ceiling!
ooop-here's the roofer now!

well roofer says it was coming to the end of it's life and the rain last night just pushed it over the edge.He reckons £500!!!
