Can anyone help please - I have said that I would help my nanny advertise her houseboat for sale on the internet - she has given me a powerpoint file which has a photo of the boat on it - I have loaded the text for the ad on an internet site but don't know how to use the photo from the powerpoint file to get a jpg file to put on the ad. Is it impossible?
I use a Mac if that is any help.

Thanks to anyone with any ideas ( and does anyone want to buy a 2 bed houseboat?)

you should be able to copy and paste it after selecting the photo (clicking on it)
I dont do macs tho'. do you have the mac office software?

bluebear · 01/07/2006 23:11

Blimey - I've messed around and turned it into a jpeg but it's mega-sized now.
bangs head against wall.

I've got MS office for mac, if that's what you mean?
I dragged it onto the desktop (most mac stuff is click and drag), then changed it into a jpeg - but i'm now trying to work out how to get it into an application to change it's size. Ho hum.

No
If it's a photo from my camera I can resize in iphoto - but can't seem to import a jpeg from desktop into iphoto.
I've submitted the ad, and I think I'll lend her my camera to take a pic. with on Monday, then I know how to do it.

Thanks for your time, wizards.

Isn't there a format picture option in Word? If you copy and paste the picture into Word, you could either click on one of the handles (the black things on the egdes/corners or go to the format drop down menu to change the size. I'm sure that should also work on the Mac - haven't used one in years. Good Luck

If you email it to me, I might be able to resize it for you.

Do you know how small you'd need to make it?

bluebear · 01/07/2006 23:38

Thanks for the offer Hunker - that's so kind.
Think puddingz has come up trumps though - pretty sure if I can resize in word, then take it out and use it.
Hurrah.

Offer's open if it doesn't work - just let me know. Good luck with it!

bluebear, try this: open finder, double click on jpeg, and it should open in preview. click file -> save as and save as a jpeg (in format drop-down) with quality on low.

hope that works!
