....from your observation/experience

Do you reckon this is true?

only so they can continue to be plagued by the gas man asking them 'Is mummy home dear??'

rings true in my family of ancients

If this is true then I am in for the long haul and dh is heading for an early grave!

People tell me I haven't changed a bit and that I look so young blah blah. I turned 36 last week and could easily pass for no more than 30. And at the age of 25 cold callers were still asking if my mum was home!!

dh has changed beyond recognition - he is now bald after having long curly locks - but that's a man thing so not too worrying. He has put on probably 4 stones in weight, gone from running 6 miles a day to being a couch potato, is really unfit and tbh could really do with losing 3 stones. He is 39 and imo heading for a stroke or heart attack within 10 years which frightens me.

So maybe it's not always a looks thing - it's lifestyle, right??

zippitippitoes · 01/07/2006 10:41

I wondered whether it was a lifestyle thing...but I look recognizably like I did when I was a lot younger (apart from fatter and older)but some people seem to change out of all recognition?

Perhaps people who don't change much are less stressed and hassled and ultimately more at ease with who they are? All of that would account for not changing much over the years and also fits in with the concept of longevity. Just a thought.

As someone who is 41 and was recently told I looked about 24/26, I am smiling!

Well, I will be here for a long time yet I have met people that I haven't seen since school and they instantly know who I am. Although I don't know whether thats actually a compliment as I was a was a skinny loud mouth madam when at school
