Interested in this one

personally I feel only when they're old enough to earn the money themselves to pay for it

I thin once you reach 90yo you should be allowed one. Before then having a tv in your room is either ruining your life or your sex life

DS {18m} has a tv video combi in his room, it can only play videos and is not tuned in to tv and is on a high shelf so he can't reach it. Its only put on for a Sunday morning to allow us more time in bed!
We have a tv in living room and a flat screen on the kitchen wall though, so we must be addicts..!

dd got one for 14th b'day. She hardly watches it ,mainly uses it for dvd's when she's got a friend sleeping over.

Oh and a flat screen on our bedroom wall, and a video baby monitor...

Yes, I agree Twiglett. If they are old enough to get a job to pay for it and that is what they wanted I wouldn't stop them.

The only problem is that I would probably allow a computer/lap top in DS's room as soon as he needed one for homework, and you can certainly play games and watch dvd's on a computer now, and I don't think it will be that long before you can watch TV.

There's something so seedy and depressing about tvs in bedrooms though.
Lol at the 'den' Puff.
Evokes images of wife swapping on vinyl couches with those weird 70s string and nail 'artworks' on the wall.

Never.

TVs don't belong in bedrooms. Especially in children's rooms.
