F*cked up money and just wanted to rant at myself. New loan repayments - meant to be making us better off/pay off quicker. I thought the payment was set up for 1st of the month... came out 28th. No pay in account... Charged £35 by bank for direct debit bouncing, £30 by cahoot for bouncing, and £30 for being over overdraft! £100 less money this month when things are already tight

So annoyed with myself - the money was in the other account!! I normally check our money online every day, but exhaustion with the teething feeding monster made me forget for 2 days.

ARGH!

Talk to the bank, explain the situation - they sometimes reduce or refund fees as a good-will gesture if the account is usually handled well, or if there is a valid reason for the money not being there.

Have you got a letter from the loan place saying the date money is due to come out. Ring loan company and ask them to change the date from next month.

Oh poor you Flameboo. We're for ever having to juggle money around to keep out of debt. It's so stressfull. I hope your bank will be understanding and you get it sorted ok.

I'm contacting the loan people now. I don't think the bank will help - we had a big mess a year or so ago, and they were b*stards then. In an ideal world I would change banks, but we have a big overdraft, and as fast as we are clearing various debts, the overdraft is least important to clear (or so I thought... starting to think that what we would have paid in interest by adding it onto the loan amount, we'd make up for in decent service without extortionate charges!)

To make things even better - the b*stards who's photo site I paid to host my wedding photos last year (you were meant to pay x amount, be able to add phtotos etc for the year and then at the end get them all sent to you on dvd - I paid, they took my subscription twice, told me my subscription had expired and ignored every correspondence I sent them), have taken out the year payment AGAIN! In the middle of trying to track down a phone number for them
