Does a maclaren buggy fold OK if it has a traditional sun parasol attached to it?

I'm trying to decide whether to buy a sun parasol for sun shade or one of those pop-out Ray shades that fits over the hood.

I'm leaning towards the sun parasol as we're going to Spain for 2 weeks and I envisage dd2 ~ 9 months ~ sleeping in her buggy quite a lot, so I'll want to be able to shade her legs.

I seem to remember us using a BRU parasol when dd2 was a baby and the connector broke easily. If we go with a parasol, who makes a good one? And I need to know that I'll be able to fold the buggy without having to remove the connector everytime.

Thanks for anyone who reads this and responds

i'd go for a shade a babe sun cover over a parasol.

I've got a mothercare parasol and maclaren buggy (quest, i think) and it folds fine with the connector on just under the hood fitting. I thought the parasol was pretty useless until I learnt the wrench the bendy bit like a woman possessed and now I can shade DD completely no matter which direction the sun shines from (apart from out of my ar$e )

I use a shade a babe on my Maclaren Volo and it folds ok, it'll keep insects off as well which can be useful.

Try one of these
Best of both worlds.

BRU parasol when dd2 Oops - that should say DD1

Misdee - I considered a Shade-a-babe but have been put off by people telling me that dd2 has reached an age where she'll likely not tolerate being covered over.

The ray shade is the one which goes over the hood but sticks out like an extended hood - except I doubt that it shades baby's extended legs.... and my dd2 is l-o-n-g!

If she tolerates having a rain hood on the pushchair then she'd probably be ok with the Shade a babe. I didn't start using it on my ds until he was about 11 months and he didn't seem to mind it. Would you be able to borrow one for a day from a friend and see how your dd likes it?
