Internet Advice Needed Please

Due to my p.c. having an 'off day', I've lost my list of 'favourite' internet sites.

Can anyone tell me how I can access my HISTORY, so I can hopefully retreive my regularly used web sites please.

Fingers crosses, I know you are a clever lot! x

What browser do you use? I take it you can't see a History or Favourites button on a toolbar?

popsycal · 24/06/2006 13:09

this happened to me once
i restored my pc to a previous setting and it came back...

do you know how to do that?

Have you got a Favourites button or a History button (mine doesn't say History but it is next to favourites and is a green arrow)

BROWNY · 24/06/2006 14:14

Thanks for trying to help, yes I have a favourites button, but it is completely clear. I have tried the green arrove next to Favourites, but it only gives me today's visited sites but is set to save all visited sites for only 10 days. So looks like the website I want is gone forever! (sad)

its only happened to mine when Dp had to reformat my pc. Had your brother reformatted it lately? meaning had he restart the pc up again from scratch?

hiya biglips, - you never know what he's gets up to when he comes to 'fix the computer', but that's what probably has happened. He came to help me put all my photographs onto a DVD to safeguard them, 'cos he said my computer was having, "blue death" - doesn't sound good, does it!??

On my browser I have a green 'back' button at the top left and there's a tiny downwards arrow on it that you can see when you move your cursor over it. Don't click the back button, click the tiny down arrow and it should bring up your history for today, and at the bottom of that is your history for the previous few days/week/few weeks. Failing that, if you know the first part of the URL of the website you were on type it into the browser bar and it should bring up the site you were on.

If it has been reformatted did he do a backup first? If so you should be able to restore them from file, look in documents and settings for the favourites folder.
