Calling grammar pendants

I'm under pressure and can't think straight (fete later this morning and I am still designing notices for my stall on Publisher).

Is this okay (re punctuation etc):

BOOKS

FICTION: MENS'S AND WOMEN'S

PLEASE HAVE A RUMMAGE

Actually, weren't you on the named scary Mnetters list?

zippitippitoes · 24/06/2006 09:25

do you really have a way of dividing books in to male and female piles?

squarer · 24/06/2006 09:26

Good point Zippi....

Could you say Fiction:Adult

That way you wouldn't need any apostrophes!

moondog · 24/06/2006 09:26

Good point Zippi
Who are we to raise a collective eyebrow at the night club bouncers who go crazy for Jilly Cooper eh??

zippitippitoes · 24/06/2006 09:27

except it sounds a bit porno

or is that the kind of books you have?

MrsJohnCusack · 24/06/2006 09:27

lol at 'grammar pendants'

I personally wouldn't bother specifying and would just say 'Fiction' but if you want the other bits then its Fiction: Men's and Women's I suppose although that still looks wrong now I write it....

WelshBoris · 24/06/2006 09:28

moondog

do you respect me now it's morning?

I did give out rather easily

zippitippitoes · 24/06/2006 09:29

fiction and non fiction is easier i think

moondog · 24/06/2006 09:29

You're easy you WB!!
lol

Gah,days of lie ins are long gone in this house.
Am trying to summon energy to get dd into her ridiculous riding apparel.

squarer · 24/06/2006 09:30

Hmmm... That would be Fiction: Erotic though Zippi

WelshBoris · 24/06/2006 09:30

Not at that stage yet DD is only 21 months

Off to holibods with her now though that should cure the hang over

squarer · 24/06/2006 09:31

HMC's ignoring us now. She's busy doing her notices for the stall.

"PORN"
NON-PORN"

zippitippitoes · 24/06/2006 09:32

I expect your customers will be easier!

moondog · 24/06/2006 09:33

Where are you going WB??

squarer · 24/06/2006 09:33

Horses?

Thank god I had a boy (already taller than a jockey too).

zippitippitoes · 24/06/2006 09:34

"holibods"

moondog · 24/06/2006 09:34

I thought it would be Improving.
Not for me it bloody isn't (and keeping 23 mth old happy while she does it)

squarer · 24/06/2006 09:35

Lol at that Zippi. It doesn't bear thinking about

zippitippitoes · 24/06/2006 09:37

thanks for cheering me up anyway

i woke up crying this morning because in my dream I was talking to my Grandma

and i said to her the most important thing I have to do now is look after you

and she replied with a hand on my shoulder no you don't
and i said to her why not

and she answered because I'm dead

and I started crying and woke up

and realised that not only was she dead but my mum and dad were too

such a vivid dream

handlemecarefully · 24/06/2006 09:47

You lot are completely incorrigible

I have two boxes of books - one entitled 'Chick lit and some more edifying reads' and the other is the Men's and Women's fiction.

I thought that I would separate them because the men might get fed up going through a box full of Jane Green, Sophie Kinsella etc and walk away without making a purchase.

Trust you all to lower the tone.

Won't be back on now today - faaarrrrr too busy with the fete (it's funny how your horizons contract when you are a SAHM, the fete is the most important thing in my calender for weeks)
