mmm martini??

for some reason i really fancy a martini tonight, so there is normal martini and bianca and rossi (thats the red?) do they only go with lemonade (i posted this in style not sure why??) i vaguely remember in my late teens/early drinking days having bianco and lemonade but a proper martini is with vodka?? is that right? gosh i sound like such a plonkie

a proper martini is gin and a bit of vermouth (e.g. the "normal Martini" branded stuff), preferably shaken with ice, maybe an olive in it.

Or you can make a vodkatini with vodka and a bit of vermouth.

Do not under an circumstances put lemonade in it - you'd be better off with a WKD if that's the kind of thing you like.

yum, dry martini with gin or vodka......
definitely not with lemonade!!

Gin, vermouth (just a dash), olive. A vodkatini uses vodka instead of gin.

I think it's the done thing to be extremely sparing with the vermouth. Apparently Churchill used to just look at the bottle, so a Churchill martini would be just gin and an olive.
