Preparing for autumn / winter

I'm due to have major surgery on my foot in two weeks time I'm likely to be in plaster for up to 12 weeks.
I've started tidying the garden
Sorted out the winter duvet ready for when they need to go on.
Started stocking up on soups etc
Can anyone recommend anything else that would help so I don't have to leave it all to dh?

Hate to say it - but buy some Christmas presents - as trailing around the shops might not be possible if you are still recovering ?!

I've already started on the bits I can't get on line but will nip into town at the weekend to get some more
