I don't think they get any bigger.

We have them bu tthey don't last too long, if i remember from last year.

the bottom of DD2's sandals whad all tiny red dots on them where she'd trodden on so many at the weekend!

Think they're known as spider mites.

EvesMama · 19/06/2006 13:14

We've got these too, inside and out. I thought they were mites. We've not had them in previous years.

Gingerbear · 21/06/2006 21:19

there is a plague of red spider mites this summer.
there has been ladybirds, greenfly, thunderflies etc in previous years.
Something in nature is out of whack.

tortoise · 21/06/2006 21:19

We call them blood spiders! DS1 loves squishing them to get red fingers!
Must be the only spider im not scared of.

EvesMama · 21/06/2006 21:20

I'm in wiltshire so I guess it's a national thing.

When I was a little I used to play the piano and had to practise every day, but the piano was in the spare room where mum kept the chicken feed. One day I was practising and started to itch, and noticed I was covered in them - head to foot. Mum had to stand me in the bath and hose me down. Don't think I stopped screaming for hours

[shudder]

cataloguequeen · 21/06/2006 21:31
