Anyone Else Hate Moving As Much As I Do?

Am in the middle of moving today. DH and his help supposedly moved a lot yesterday, but basically took 1 load over, and then took a long lunch and everyone went home. He is now working today. I've packed just about everything there is to pack, but can't transport it as I have a really small car and 2 small children with carseats. I'm trying to keep a 9 month old and a 2.9 year old in one room because there are so many boxes/torn apart beds/mirrors and other dangerous things setting about in the rest of the rooms. We have to move to a temporary rental for the next 2 months, because DH is getting transfered 250 miles away, and can't go up until then. So basically about 70% of our stuff is going to storage. The rental we're moving into is an absolute dump. It is in a really bad neighborhood, there's a condemned house 4 houses away from it because it was used as a meth lab. (In Southern Oregon, USA, big problem with that here.) We bought a new house in the town we will eventually move to. It is beautiful, in a nice neighborhood, and will be setting empty one day after we move out of here. But DH will not be there, so we are stuck down here.

My goodness that was a ramble, and a rather pathetic one at that, seeing as there are so many other MN'ers on here with much worse things happening. I think I just really hate moving.

Poor you - just keep thinking about the lovely house you will have in 2 months time.

i moved house 200 miles , about 7 weeks ago and it is very stressful, i had fortunately dm took 2 of the children, to hers during the move, so i just had 2 to contend with.
i was very releived when it was all over, good luck with your moveSmile

I think the biggest problem is DD (9 mo) will just sit there and scream non-stop if I am not holding her every minute. My friends are betting on how long I will last before I decide I've had it and just move up to the new house. I think the funny smells in the rental have driven me over the edge.

Sad, the rental sounds horrible Sad, is there anyway of moving to the new house before then apologies, apologise if youve alfready said why, read your post with dd trying to attack the keyboard!

Hard, isn't it. We can, but it would mean 3 months apart. (We are planning to go up before DH to get the new house set up) DS is so attached to DH. When DH had a work meeting and was out of town for 1 night, DS cried and screamed and threw a fit. I can, and I know a lot of people do spend that much time apart, I just feel really guilty doing it. Plus, the big reason we're moving is that DH has to work all the time in his job here, and I don't know when he'd be able to take enough days off in a row (he doesn't get more than 1 usually) to move us up there.
