cupcakes · 17/06/2006 16:46

blue peter
I hadn't even heard of magpie till I met dh and he scorned me for watching BP.

Ledodgyherring · 17/06/2006 16:50

How did I watch both?

peachygirl · 17/06/2006 16:51

blue peter for me. My parents were a bit like martin bishops.

roisin · 17/06/2006 16:51

Occasionally BP.
But my dad would only let us watch TV if it was dark outside or raining Shock
So we didn't see much of BP!

BadHair · 17/06/2006 16:52

Blue Peter at home, by Parental Order, but Magpie at grandparents' houses.

Blandmum · 17/06/2006 16:53

I learned loads by watching BP, all about the French Revolution and Ann Frank. they used to have sort of story boards, and the presenters used to read the script while you looked at the pictures IYSWIM.

Loved it.

Never had any stickybacked plastic though....or glue or poster paints!

Bomper · 17/06/2006 17:46

Used to watch Blue Peter, but used to fancy Tommy Boyd from Magpie Blush

treacletart · 17/06/2006 17:50

magpie was the only childrens programme on ITV my dad would let us watch! Grin

Posey · 17/06/2006 17:56

Watched both. Still have letters received from Magpie, thanking me for my donation to their appeal and from BP for being a competition runner up. Have them in my "treasure box"!

Both - they were on on different days.

Preferred Magpie though.

Dior · 17/06/2006 18:27

Magpie - cooler, and BP bored me to tears. I did like the historical 'plays' they used to do, like the one about Marie Antoinette.

Gingerbear · 17/06/2006 18:43

Both, but prefered BP. Especialy when they went to India or Africa on 'holiday'

wabbitt · 17/06/2006 18:51

Blue Peter

lapsedrunner · 17/06/2006 18:53

Both but preferred Blue Peter

wabbitt · 18/06/2006 00:56

OMG treacletart - you had channel mafia too???

we had to sneak viewings of ITV

Tiswas was a NO NO

Until OTT - it was the balloons that did it... Mum thought it was hilarious and the ITV sanction kind of dissolved!

Magpie, which incedently is the name of my favourite album of the moment ( god i sound like my pretentious x) But the title of this thread sounds like your asking an 80's political question, Blue Peter or Maggie T. Both pretty shite.

I do love Will Youngs Video though and i also love Ronan Keatings new song, shit i'm a middle aged housewife.

2shoes · 18/06/2006 07:26

oh shit i have just realised(hours and hours later) that I put mgie not Magpie in the titleBlush
