Cause I do. But was laughed at for saying so!

Went out with friends last week adn we stopped off at Asda to use the cash point. She drives into a disabled spot so I say "Err you know you cant park here dont you?"

She says - "yes I can"

Me "but youre not disabled..."

Her "No but I have a friend who works for xxxx and they got me this" and produces a disabled badge.

She, nor any of her family are disabled and I thought she was taking the piss.

She thought that I should be impressed by her friend sneaking her a badge.

What do you think?

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 14/06/2006 21:31

This was the first time id met her. The rest of the evening went fine but i couldnt help thinking she was a prize knob Blush I just thought it really took the piss.

i would report her to the local authority. truly i would. it is BANG out of order. i really would and i hope her mate gets sacked!

alp · 14/06/2006 21:33

sorry ..... i agree with chatee - i've asked people to move their cars before (when feeling brave) I am not disabled but my grandpa is and it is heartbreaking for him to walk miles across a huge car park all because some idiot has parked there.

Pixiefish · 14/06/2006 21:34

out of order

2shoes · 14/06/2006 21:34

sick lazy * being the mother of a severly disabled child I would have slapped her.( no apologies but i feel VERY strongly about this) not getting a bay when you are or have a disabled person with you can ruin a whole outing.
(hope Misdee see's this)

Pathetic and despicable.

I would report her too - there are so many fraudulent blue badges in circulation in our area that i am surprised genuine disabled people can ever find anywhere to park at all.

Twinkie1 · 14/06/2006 21:36

I'd report her straight away and I would tell her it was me who reported her and she was a thoroughly despicable person and I did not want to be her friend!!!

And I would hope her wanker friend got the sack too - people who need badges often don't get them or have to struggle to and there are people around who use them because - well what so they can park nearer the cashpoint!!!!

SoupDragon · 14/06/2006 21:36

Shock! Of course it's bloody wrong!

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 14/06/2006 21:37

I was soooo annoyed with her, cause of reading the threads on MN - I actually mutterred 'Misdee would kill you...' but she didnt hear me - phew! Dont want her turning up on MN!

It was just the way she found it soooo amusing!

She was also going on about having points removed from her licience somehow cause she does something in IT - i dont know i stopped listening

Really shocked - fil has one leg and no-one in the family would ever use the pass if he wasn't in the car. I make the assumption that people who abuse the system, park in the resevred spaces feel they are better and more deserving than the rest of us. Makes my blood boil.

Twinkie1 · 14/06/2006 21:39

Think maybe you should talk to your local cop shop - sure what she is doing is fraud - or what her friend has done is fraud!!!

Rowlers · 14/06/2006 21:39

She clearly has no empathy for her fellow man (or woman).
Utterly selfish. I'd have been tempted to pick it up and refuse to return it.
Well, I say that but would probably remained silent and insignant.

nicnack2 · 14/06/2006 21:41

i work for a local council and i have clients turned down for these badges. That really p*** me off. She would need photo id these days will up here you do. No wonders council employee get a bad name. I'll bloody shop her Angry

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 14/06/2006 21:41

I didnt want to make to much of a fuss seeing as she was driving and we were miles away from home iykwim.

How would you report someone then?

OP posts:
Rowlers · 14/06/2006 21:42

inddddddddddignant, obviously.

Twinkie1 · 14/06/2006 21:42

I would shop her to the cops (as I have said) and make a formal complaint to your local council - out it in writing and send it to lots of department heads - and a local councillor or 10!!!

granarybeck · 14/06/2006 21:45

report her to police and local authority. of course it is wrong, feel v strongly about this, it is disgusting.

nicnack2 · 14/06/2006 21:47

look in the phone book for the disabled badge department ot phone main switchboard and ask for the name of the team leader then write a letter

misdee · 14/06/2006 21:47

its wrong, very very wrong. and i would slap her.

moondog · 14/06/2006 21:49

Outrageous.
Shop her.
Antisocial bitch.

acnebride · 14/06/2006 21:50

I agree with everyone else.

Smile
LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 14/06/2006 21:52

MT :)

She said her friend works for somewhere or other (cant remember) and got it for her. There was some other badges stuck under the flap thingy too - one for every occassion she says - dont know what they were though.
