....you are not, are you?

And you posted not that long ago that if you go on them your head explodes.

Please don't explode, have a virtual glass of wine with me?

Caligula · 14/06/2006 19:03

Glad you're not jimjams, I'm sorry if it does your head in, but glad that you're still in there informing us all. Smile

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 14/06/2006 19:03

ruty · 14/06/2006 19:21

I'm glad you there too Jimjams. Don't quite know what we'd do without you. Smile

Blandmum · 14/06/2006 19:22

oh god it makes me want to leave mumsnet though.

Actually was distinctly livid about the Wakefield stuff today- friend desperately needs to see a very good gastroenterologist who listens to paretns, and of course he's gone. Have recommended Murch instead, which reminds me I'm off to google him for her.

serenity · 14/06/2006 19:30

oh the shame Blush

I've been reading your name as 'Vax' - bright red carpet cleaner/vacuum cleaner, rather than as 'vaccination'.

Does make more sense now Grin

Blandmum · 14/06/2006 19:30

DONT LEAVE.

OP posts:
moondog · 14/06/2006 19:32

Others have done the same Serenity.....

moondog · 14/06/2006 19:33

What#s the problem????

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 14/06/2006 19:43

vaccination doesn't fit!

Actually I feel like being madDrfFitzpatrick for a while. Or MadasashatterBrianDeerandviletoboot (lets all laugh at a mother dying shall we- what a charmer).

Blandmum · 14/06/2006 19:46

Don't get the second reference, if it is about dying mums I think I'm rather glad.

Just please don't add to your stress....scratch that, of course this is adding to your stress, just please don't make yourself ill/explode your head.

I can echo what the others have said, it is great for MN that you post on the vax threads, but I am not so sure that it is good for you. But I understand their horrid facination for you Sad

Just promise me that you will not explode!

I try to be reasonable, I know that the MMR is safe for the majority, I know that measles can be nasty- and I say that quite frequently. It just makes me mad that no-one even seems to care about the ones who aren't ok.

Did I force feed you the film a few weeks ago (autism every day). I watch that and its watching exactly how it is. Danson is very like ds1- even his mannerisms and noises, although ds1 is a bit less free flowing now he's older- a bit jerky.

Blandmum · 14/06/2006 19:55

I saw it. Didn't know what to say, still don't.

I can see why you want to post. I think that it is great that you do, and you are amazingly balanced about the whole thing, but I can't help think that it is doing MN more good than it is doing you. I hope that doesn't sound rude.

It is sort of like it was great for the children in the MN to have your ds1 with them, but lousy for him, IYSWIM.

I just sometimes worry that the understanable stress that this puts you under.

And having seen the film I simply can't undertand how you can cope with any more on top of what gets thrown at you every day.

I can understand why you post, I think, just please don't make yourself ill over these threads, you already have enough on your plate. [hugs]

Absolutely right MB- I know- I usually just take a break for a while.

If you want to know why I think Brian Deer is vile read this \link{http://briandeer.com/wakefield/wakefield-letters.htm\link} from his webpage.- scroll down to the final message - it's got to be wrong to gloat about someone's death.

His webpage also contains the Royal Free patent application for the vacine Wakefield was looking at developing- from which its fairly clear the main role they were hoping for was as a treatment for children with autistic enterocolitis. And yet he portrayed it as Wakefield being money grabbing and trying to rival the MMR. Of course it mentioned the potential prophylactic benefit (spelling) because surely you have to put all potential uses down on a patent application.

Haven't read all your threads and posts but will do.It is important that you post and/or reply to people..your experience is invaluable for people.Even though it must be draining for you.I would want your advice rather than someones who really has no clue..i think Martianbishop is right.

wannaBe1974 · 14/06/2006 22:10

no don't go. haven't read latest thread but know that your input is always well balanced and I understand why you feel the need to post, but it's not worth getting stressed over. There will always be people who disagree with views and mmr is a very emotive debate to have on any level, but especially when there are so many people with so much differing experience.

Am seeing dog trainer tomorrow so will hopefully have some positive news on that front for you by tomorrow night :)

(((hugs)))

Socci · 14/06/2006 22:22

Blush Jimjams

vitomum · 14/06/2006 22:41

as a lurker over the last few weeks on all the MMR threads i just want to let you know jimjams that i am incredibly grateful for your generous and patient sharing of your knowledge. You're helping me massively with the decisions i have to make. Having said that i'm glad that you are prioritising yourself sometimes and taking a break from those threads if they get too stressful for you. it must become tedious answering the same points all the time - that's why i've stuck to lurking, as there are always plenty others diving in with the daft questions i need to ask! anyway, cheers and look after yourself.

chapsmum · 14/06/2006 22:52

Jimjams out of oll the people who are cautious over vaccination I fell you provide the most balanced arguments. The way other peopl interpret what you are saying is up to them. It should not makey you feel like you should leave mumsnet.

People do not always agree with me in my job and they twist what I tell them to suit themselves but it only frustrates me. I would never consider leaving my job over it because I am passionate about my work.

You are obviously very passionate and knowledgable about both sides of the argument.

I have said it before and I'll say it agin they infor you bring is invaluable and I for once have appreciate it more than you know.

chapsmum · 14/06/2006 22:53
