or calling anyone else that knows about AppleMacs but was told Hub2Dee was my man!!

I am trying to download a newer version of MSN Messenger but it only seems to accept the old version. Am using messenger for AppleMacs obviously. Am I doing something wrong or wont AppleMacs download the up to date version of MSN Messenger.

Any ideas? Thanks.

I always see 'poppies in saline' LOL.

Anyhoo, all the downloads are \link{http://www.microsoft.com/mac/default.aspx?pid=msnmessenger\here}. Shouldn't be a problem...

When you say 'it only accepts the old version' can I ask what you mean ? Perhaps you just need to remove / destroy the icon for the 'old' copy and replace it with an icon for the new version IYSWIM ? (Presuming you launch from the dock).

I just tried to upgrade from 5.0.0 to 5.1.1 (latest).

It doesn't automatically install itself in your applications folder, so if you just click for the download, wait, watch all the install messages etc. but then just let it relaunch (or launch it yourself from the dock) you will launch the OLD version (which will permanently ask to be upgraded IYSWIM).

Just click on the Finder, got to your Applications folder, drag the Microsoft Messenger icon to the trash, and then drag the new icon, (which will be somewhere on your screen following the download) to the Applications folder to replace it. It will ask permission to access your keychain etc. which you can say 'yes' to.

hth.
