I am very very very young too! Really I am!

NomDePlume · 12/06/2006 19:50

I'm 24, so youngish

bubblez · 12/06/2006 19:51

Ahhh how young are you then ruhbarb... Grin

Thomcat · 12/06/2006 19:52

Well if she's been trying for 2 years and is really happy good on her, how wonderful. don't get why so many people are so Shock'ed tbh. she's 43 not 75! My mum fell pregnant when I was in my late teens but lost the baby. i'd love to have a really young brother or sister now but it wasn't to be. Congratulations to you and your ever growing family.

beansprout · 12/06/2006 19:57

Congrats to your mum. Dh has 2 dds - now 21 and 18 so ds's sisters are a generation older than him. That said, when it comes to men having a second family a generation apart, it's accepted as pretty standard.

Rhubarb · 12/06/2006 19:59

I'm younger than dh bubblez! And much younger than Tamba's mum too!

bubblez · 12/06/2006 20:05

Grin again you would have been one of the ppl that I would have put in the 30something bracket along with practically everyone else.... funny that Grin

Rhubarb · 12/06/2006 20:06

CHEEK! Angry

Just so long as it was at the lower end of the 30's bracket then! Sad

Cappucino · 12/06/2006 20:08

surely she's saying you sound mature and knowledgeable?

is a compliment

Rhubarb · 12/06/2006 20:09

Ah yes, well if you put it like that! Of course! Grin

bubblez · 12/06/2006 20:19

Thank you cuppacino Grin after all it's not as though I have anyones looks to go by. Grin Grin If ppl sound mature I automatically assume that they are older than me.... Oh god what does that insinuate about my own maturity..lol.Grin

fattiemumma · 12/06/2006 23:39

my DS is a year older than my youngest brother.

its bizaar at first but you kind of get used to it..they are like cousins now. its pretty cool really.

just freaky to know your parents are still "doing it" lol

Feistybird · 12/06/2006 23:43

I was soooooo hoping this was a miracle 'pregnant at 50' story, alas, your dear 'old' mum is my age (but there are nooooo more pregnancies for this old bird Wink.

Alipiggie · 13/06/2006 01:35

Arabica · 13/06/2006 13:00

I'm pg and OLDER than your mum (45 in Sept), however, am v immature...

fullmoonfiend · 13/06/2006 13:04

it must be a great shock to think your mum has > been 'doing it' Grin

harpsichordcarrier · 13/06/2006 13:15

fab news Smile
there is a gap between me and my eldest sister of 14 years and we are very close and always have been.
she is 50 now, seven years older than your mum

Cam · 13/06/2006 18:37

Lol Capuccino at the Easy-care, Easy-wear

Even my mother (78 this year) wouldn't wear that gear

And as for my MIL (86) she wears Jaeger and other dead smart stuff

mousie · 13/06/2006 21:31

This happened to me - eighteen years ago. I was eighteen and my brother sixteen - my mum was forty seven and thought she was having the menopause.... Found out five months in she was pregnant (she was quite plump so this was possible...though still seems amazing to me..). All went fine - she was v anti abortion so it wasn't an option for her then even though she was pretty old and by no means that healthy. though I think my father was looking forward to retirement and no kids... Seeing my mum pregnant was very weird - and not really in a good way. I hated her vulnerability and the whole thing just felt not quite right. But now eighteen years on - i have a very sweet sister who is a great babysitter and has just done her first weekend with my kids while we went away!
Good luck with it all - for you and your mum. x

Beetle73 · 13/06/2006 21:45

I have a brother 23 years younger. In fact my eldest sibling is 11 years younger than me. It's cool. Great for DD, who has uncles and aunts young enough to be really interesting. Though I guess in your case the baby will be your DCs niece/nephew.

OldieMum · 13/06/2006 21:54

Well, I'm 44 and DS is will arrive in two weeks' time. Good luck to her, I say!
