Well call me a self righteous prig (stop shouting!) but for 9 year old niece's baptism last week,I got her an Oxfam standpipe and made the link between symbolic use of water in baptism and the real gift of water.

Off to administer alms and wheaten loaves to needy on North Wales now...

I think she will be getting a rosery from her dgps. Plus as a very lapsed Baptist I don't think I would know how to go about getting one Smile

What is traditional...other than the calf's foot jelly option?? Smile

I know nothing on these things. We didn't do first communion, just lashings of protestant guilt!

THose keepsake thingies are quite nice. Angel, and I think the girl would rather like them. And under budget....which i like a lot! Grin

Well I am buying for a child I see every week, and my budget was £15, 'tis only a memento.

A nice edition of a classic book always goes down well.

I bought my godson the DVD of The Miracle Maker (animated stories of Jesus). Went down very well - I left his Irish grandparents to buy him the medals and missals Wink
