I find mine goes haywire when there's a storm in the area. I end up turning it off as I get so irritated!!Grin

What sort of problems? We have the storm/heavy rain thing too but today I couldn't get it to switch to Cbeebies (said there was a "technical fault").

my mum and dads Sky is currentl;y saying its receiving no signal.

is this happening all over then as i shoudl let them know..they have booked an engineer to come out at a cost of about £80!! as dad is desperate not to miss the footie tomorrow

petunia · 09/06/2006 23:40

fattiemumma- not sure whether your parents have the same problem I was saying about. When we've had this before (and this is about the 2nd time in 2 weeks for us), DH found on the internet that when the box locks up you have to switch off the box, unplug at the mains for several minutes, plug in again, leave it another minute or 2, switch on and it should have sorted itself out.

handlemecarefully · 09/06/2006 23:42

We've had the 'receiving no signal think' too. A Sky engineer came and 'fixed' it at exorbitant cost and no problems since

EmmaKB · 10/06/2006 00:00

Weekly our whole system goes off. Always happens when I am trying to record Location on Tuesday evening. We have to un plug and leave it for 10 mins before switching on. This is also the case for everyone we know who has sky. Think that machines are programmed to go wrong after the warranty runs out so that you pay over the odds to get them fixed.

handlemecarefully · 10/06/2006 00:01

Wouldn't be surprised. I do not trust Sky one iota and their customer service is nil

We had a problem last week, we kept getting a no signal message. We went on the sky website and followed the trouble shooting procedure re-setting the box.

We were just about to phone the helpline when we realised we had both bedroom windoes wide open and they were blocking the sky dish on the house Blush
