just noticed a huge fag burn on recently covered sofa( it cost a fortune) and the guilty party can only be dh.(Mr rollup)
i am sitting here weeping( pathetic i know)
It must have happened last night as i cleaned yesterday and it and sofa was fine. He was sitting on that exact spot last night.

Just point it out in a matter of fact way. He's the one who should be pussyfooting, not you!
Suggest he gives up smoking until he's saved enough money to replace it?

poor you - its the kind of thing that makes me cry too - for me it would be the hard earned cash and no prospect of a replacement, feeling tha everything nice gets trashed . I don't suppose insurance covers it? I guess even 'all risks' doesn't cover careless smoking.

never thought of insurance but i doubt it would be covered. cost me £800 to cover- it was originally my nan's suite - would have been cheaper to get a new one , but i always like the shape.

Insurance can cover some strange things - some friends got a payout when their mobile phone was chewed by their baby. It could be worth a try!

Just pulled out the receipt from the upholsterer and am now thinking i could just get cushions made to it on top.the guy suggested it at the time he resorung the sofa.
am still blimmin cross tho.
