I've just spotted the introverts thread.I think people would say I'm introverted because I'm shy. But there are some aspects of introversion that I don't share.

I don't get worn out from social interaction. I am very comfortable to be alone but don't need time alone to recharge. I think my shyness led me to choose an introverted partner. I regret that we don't socialise as a couple because huge has no need for social and interaction outside work.

I find it a struggle to be someone who needs and enjoys social interaction hut finds it had to do it/maintain it. There's a permanent tension because the 2 parts of mine don't match. Anyone who else similar?

I am definitely an extrovert - have loads of acquaintances, would prefer to attend a party than stay in alone, really enjoy to talk to people, spend my life texting/on facebook, find it hard to concentrate on long involved tasks and use chatting at lunch to break up my working day... but I would also say that I can be shy. I look forward to seeing someone for weeks and then can never think of anything to say or go 'in my own head' (I am quite an introspective extrovert I think!). It's tough - tougher than being an outgoing introvert I'd say, because we crave conversation but can't always get it!
