Just ask Nutcracker what B'ham coucil is like?
Castle Vale houses are held by a private housing trust.

motherinferior · 07/02/2004 20:41

Can you ring your local council housing department to ask?

Good on you. I've been wondering how you are!

SHIREENSMOM · 07/02/2004 20:44

Hi Shireensmom,
I live in Sutton Coldfield in a 2 bed housing association flat, and have 3 kids. We are on the councils list (medical priority) and on the transfer list for the association we are with now and the casstle vale housing action trust. We have been waiting for over 18mths now, with no offers. I think you can apply for a transfer with B'ham city council and you get extra points for already being a council tennant, but as JanHr said Castle Vale isn't council anymore it's H/A. There are two sections of it too, the Castle Vale Housing Action Trust and the H.A.T. The cvaht have just nominated me to the hat but i've also heard that people on the estate have voted for it to be council run again and that from sept the cvhat won't exist.
Also, do you have any family living on Castle Vale ???? because if you do then that really helps apparently.
Not sure if that helps, i've waffled a bit haven't i.

The number for Castle Vale is : 0121 776 6784

If you want a council transfer, then ring your local council department and say that you want to transfer to another area.
Hope that helps and good luck

Good for you shireensmom. No advice I'm afraid but I think it's probably good news that you're leaving him. I hope this remark doesn't offend you.

Blu · 09/02/2004 10:48

Is the tennancy of your current flat in your name?

nutcracker · 09/02/2004 10:49

If your aunt actually lives on Castle Vale then that would count, from what i've been told. Did you get my email ??

SHIREENSMOM · 09/02/2004 16:52

yeh im the tennant of the flat its all in my name. i got your email nutcracker thank you, err my aunt i dont no where abouts she lives but she used to live in one of the high rise flats ill give her a call and ask her

Well everyone was moved out of the high rises but she was probably rehoused on the vale, unless she asked to bo moved away. I think all you need to know is her adress e.t.c. You don't have to say that you visit regularly or anything, not as far as i know anyway. It must be a good way of getting on there cos i had several people with relatives on there offering them out to me

SHIREENSMOM · 09/02/2004 18:58

nc what about other places in brum how come you want to move on the vale? (just courius) i cant spell!!! is eredington nice i cant spell that either but i think you no where i meen

did I teach you too?

nutcracker · 09/02/2004 19:12

Well at the mo we live in Sutton and would like to stay here but we are very desperate to move. We are with the council for Sutton and surrounding areas like Wylde Green, Boldmere e.t.c. We are with the H/A we are with now for Sutton again and Lichfield, and we are with the Vale for the Vale obviously.
Parts of Erdington are nice, but i have lived there before and just don't fancy it again. Sanctuary have quite a nice little estate in pype hays too.

SHIREENSMOM · 09/02/2004 22:53
