I'm on such a slow dial-up system and would love to switch to broadband but don't know how, what difference it will make (other than being faster), just basically how it works and if there are any problems with it. Or anything I should know about?

Can anybody help? Smile

It's easy to swap phone up whoever you have your dial up with (if you want to stay with them) & they will upgrade it for you, it will just be alot faster & your pages will load alot quicker, no complication, once you do it you wont look back !

Will it mean that some sites I currently can't get on (they just come up with java script) will become available?

What difference will it make? To quote an advert:

It's how the internet should be :)

As well as it being faster what it also means is that instead of you being charged per minute you can stay on permanantly for as long as you like and be charged a flat-rate monthly fee. I think TalkTalk have an offer on at the moment where it's free broadband forever if you change your phone over to them (we used to have our phone with them and they were brilliant).

if - broadband is faster and is on all the time - no waiting to dial up.

but you still won't be able to see the sites you can't see now. sounds like your browser security/privacy settings are too high?

imaginaryfriend · 06/06/2006 22:54

Oh, senora, I didn't know that. I'll check out my browser secrecy settings or whatever they are. If I can ever find them!

I'm with onetel at the moment, who have been taken over by talktalk so maybe I should check it out with them?
