LotosEater · 07/06/2006 14:43

hub2dee · 07/06/2006 14:43

LotosEater · 07/06/2006 14:47

and I have 3 x 4 sided graters because they were always in the dishwasher when I needed them when I only had 2 Grin

gosh I have a facinating life

nightowl · 07/06/2006 15:05

terribly old fashioned things if you ask me...i have a grater box with different lids [proud puffed up emoticon] and i still dont know what that lid is for.

Tinker · 07/06/2006 15:10

Find box grater awkward to handle. Sometimes do parmesan with a hand held peeler.

This is an interesting thread!

i find the proper graters hard to work, cheese box as we call it is much easier, it has a none slip base.....oh my, im sad......leaving the thread.

horace · 07/06/2006 15:21

perhaps it's for removing cellulite? wil try later and let you know how i get on!

suejonez · 07/06/2006 16:00

No don't Horace! Shock The skin and dried blood get stick in the sticky-outy bits and they're a bugger to clean off.

horace · 08/06/2006 12:51

should have listened to you, suejonez. spent last night poking bits of skin out with knitting needle. Lovely slim thighs though.

suejonez · 08/06/2006 13:03

Ah well, all's well that ends well then. Worth if if you now have lovely slim thighs.

LeahE · 08/06/2006 17:14

You could have just run it through the diswasher, though, horace. I find that that gets out skin and dried blood a treat.

suejonez · 09/06/2006 10:39

don't you get a build up in the drains? Would soda crystals shift it?

LeahE · 09/06/2006 15:14

Just slop down some of the sulphuric acid you use for dissolving dead bod... err... for general household tasks. That'll shift it.

suejonez · 09/06/2006 15:27

thats not very eco-friendly

LeahE · 09/06/2006 15:30

[hopefully] but it's fair-traded organic sulphuric acid... [well, I suppose actually it's chemically inorganic because it's sulphuric acid, after all. Do you think an organic acid would be better?]

suejonez · 09/06/2006 15:34

Hmmm, just trying to remember my A level chemistry and how sulpuric acid is produced. But it may decay into Sulphur/water based compounds so on balance probably OK. The laundry threads seem to swear by soda crystals for everything else though so wondered if it would work on flesh and blood...
