playstation games suggestions please?

Am giving in to dd1's request for a playstation for her birthday. Question is what games are suitable for a 9 yr old? Got to be non-violent for definite, so no shooting, racing or sports (coz she wouldn't be interested in that one!). Suggestions gratefully received. Also seem to remember someone saying they had found a website selling ps1 games for something ridiculous like 99p but can't find it?

What about singstar?

it's a game that also has a camera. so you set it up and can do lots of different things. for example in one you have to wah windows very quickly. instead of using a controller you use your hands. they have lots of different ones out no(we chose that one as dd has cp) but there are dancing ones

or a dancemat?

oh ok 2shoes, will look into that one.
Aero already have a dancemat but singstar sounds interesting.

spyro and crash bandicoot favs in this house

My dd 8yrs likes the dog game - can't find it to give you the name, Lemmings and also Smurfs in racing cars as there is a girl smurf.

its a ps2 by the way. Thanks for suggestions will go and look at them - any more for any more?

Have also just bought LEGO starwars from "Game" - special price of £9.99 at the moment, fights are with childish laser swords and they smash lego spaceships. No blood guts etc. Fine for children

& we are VERY fussy about the stuff we let ours play - or watch

Harry Potter games are excellent, Jak and Daxter - Kind of role playing adventure thingy. Would also support Lego starwars - me and DH play this when there's nothing on the tele!
