It's meant to be a really nice area. I used to work in an estate agents that sold country properties and it was always a very popular area. Sorry can't be more help

Hey coddy - my in-laws live near there! But then, they are considerably richer than me
Lovely area, although some of the villages are a bit remote - no shop or pub in some.

I once had to go there on business. I remember driving round and round, couldn't actually find the bl**dy place.
Mind you, it was about 17 years ago (oh, hell, I wish I hadn't realised that).

I don't live far from there. Barnt Green is nice, apparently Blackwell is nice too. New Ikea I think is planned for nearby Longbridge (part of old Rover factory). Alvechurch is also nice and Bromsgrove schools are said to be excellent. Best transport to Brum would be the train as otherwise you would have to battle with the Bristol Road (aaargh!!!!!)

Is your pal looking to move for a good connection to Birmingham? If so and she's not tied to that side of Brum, Knowle and Dorridge are also lovely villages with excellent schools, and also very good connections to airport, brum, motorways, cricket, etc.

K and D also good cricket team (used to watch dh play when young and stupid ) and very expensive to live there.

Brant green has little shops - lets face it B ham is only 10 miles away so it isnt that cut off

Bristol road a mare

what about sutton coldfield , where I used to live?

Coddy · 09/02/2004 18:59

blackwell nice if I remeber and alvechurch is where friend lives

they arent really villages at all they are urban dormitory theme vullages - all the pubs are "ye olds" branded IYKWIM

Sutton is very nice - my sister has a bathroom showroom there (Ripples) - loads of money in certain areas. Wishaw is supposed to be quite nice and Middleton is not far away with the wonderful Ash End House Farm.
