Maxi Cosi Rodi 71 / 100
Britax Evolva 2-3 Ultra

Chicco Key 2 -3 58 / 100
Jane Indy Plus Team (Isofix) 48 / 100 **
Bebe Car Mutibob SP 47 / 100
** commnet about Jane Indy plus in the text... Jane Indy plus uses an isofix base, which is unusual for a group 2 / 3 seat. However, our test show that, because it has no 3rd support its isofix base offers no safetly advantages over non-isofix seats in this group
_
From last year where different seats were tested:
The mothercare seat that vost about £40 did VERY well for 0 - 13 kg
Maxi cosi Priori scored highly for 9 - 18kg
and in a previosue report to that the Britax Renaisance scored almost as well also
15kg+: Britax Highliner and Britax Kid have scored well
SEATS TO AVOID:
The Graco seat with a back and booster, (from 15kg)(whatever its called)
Britax Cruiser plus (9kg+)
Britax Ranger (9kg+)

  • other that at the moment i cant remember

Hope this is helpful!

great info, will be looking for a new car seat for dd very soon

Carameli · 06/06/2007 20:09

if you are there at all could I possibly ask how the prioi xp came out compared to the maxi cosi tobi.

I am about to buy one of these to replace car seat that was in a bit of a crash.(All are fine)
We had the Maxi cosi prioi xp which I is brill. Just wondered how much better the tobi is?

chilledmama · 06/06/2007 20:12

Tobi is best non-isofix seat is that class.

chilledmama · 06/06/2007 20:13

59 points versus 70.

Ceebee74 · 06/06/2007 20:24

I knew the Tobi was the best car seat in that class - but it didn't fit in DH's car so ended up with the Priori XP - was very annoyed as I really really wanted the Tobi,

chilledmama · 06/06/2007 20:26

Ultimately, none of them are good if they don't fit!!!!!

Carameli · 06/06/2007 20:27

I have just had a look at the maxi website and the tobi will into fit in our dhs or my car so think we'll be sticking with the xp as well.

ceebee74, did you get it tested at a fitter or go by the website. Really loved the tobi and disappointed if this is the case.

Ceebee74 · 06/06/2007 20:27

I know - but was even more annoyed to find my friend (who has the exact same car as DH but with leather seats - not sure if that makes a difference) was told that it did fit and bought one.

Ceebee74 · 06/06/2007 20:29

I didn't even know there was a website - going to go and check it out now.

We went to Mothercare and my friend went to a small ndependent shop - not sure which one I trust more!

chilledmama · 06/06/2007 20:29

Don't pay too much attention to the website. Its wrong about loads of cars.

Go to mothercare and ask them to try fitting it for you...they will tell you. Which said Mothercare are good for fittings!

Ceebee74 · 06/06/2007 20:31

X post chilled - you have just answered my question I guess!

Carameli · 06/06/2007 20:32

thanks chilledmama, off to mothercare tomorrow

chilledmama · 06/06/2007 20:32

The website only knows what carmanufactures publish about their cars...so if Nissan (in my case and my friends) didn't publish that they have isofix then the Maxi-Cosi website, and all other websites to be fair, can't say their seats fit! Annoying but logical!

Carameli · 08/06/2007 15:01

went this morning to mothercare where a really helpful lady checked out the tobi with my car and it was absolutely fine, also showed me all about buckle crunch issues which some of the car seats we tried had. Was quite an education.

Anyway I came away really happy. Have now ordered it for Boots.com as they have 20% off car seats at the mo and you can also get your points.

chilledmama · 09/06/2007 18:13

Good to know about discount and points thanks Carameli.

nappyaddict · 10/06/2007 13:28

is this right - the priorifix is 74 points but the normal priori is 54 points?

nappyaddict · 10/06/2007 13:29

59 points i mean not 54

nappyaddict · 10/06/2007 13:32

can you tell me how many points the britax freeway si got please.

nappyaddict · 10/06/2007 13:35

sorry i meant the britax freeway and the britax eclipse si.
