In my parents house several years ago, the toilet used to flush through the night and we could hear someone walking around upstairs.

I remember being in the living-room with my mum and we heard the front door open and close, then the hallway door open and close, and someone ran up the stairs. We investigated, but nobody was there Shock I moved out shortly after - it was too creepy!!!

My dd (3) talks to my parents (who are both dead), who she's never met. She tells me she's played with the people in the photograph and actually came into me in tears the other day and pointed at a picture of my dad asking where he'd gone because he hasn't come to play for a while!

In our old house as a baby she used to look at a vacant space in the room then her eyes would follow something round and she would laugh as though she was watching something. If anything this is comforting to me as one of my biggest regrets is that my parents didn't live to see my children.

Also yesterday I'd been hoovering upstairs then went downstairs to fetch something my kids were both downstairs and the hoover upstairs turned on, I was a bit put out but more so that whoever or whatever switched it on waited until i'd finished hoovering instead of helping me out earlier! Grin

Ooh I love ghost stories! I wish I could see or hear one.

Moondog doesn't believe any of you.:o

Actually, up until about 6 or 7 years ago, I wouldn't have, either.

I've changed, though. Wink

i was an utter skeptic and did not believe what i had seen at the age of 29 was someone who is not in this life anymore. till i saw him featured on friggin' The Learning Channel's 'Haunted Castles' a year later. Shock

Our house has occasional family 'visitors' but the only permanent extra resident is a black cat.

The cat was here before we were and I have no intention of getting it to leave. Plenty of people have seen it and commented on it. On one occasion a friend insisted on spending 15 minutes upstairs looking for it as she had seen it go up.

I think every house I have lived in has had at least one extra 'occupant' but maybe it is just that my family are more sensitive to their presence.

SG
The boy's mother in our room still comes round every now and again. She wasn't happy when she was first here. But she's allright now, methinks, cuz I got her told Wink.

How do you cope knowing that there could be someone somewhere watching you? I would be totally petrified!

I totally believe all though I haven't 'seen' anything just heard things.

My nan 'visits' my home. My ds has spent many nights taking to her and I have seen her on a few occasions.
It bothers my mum as she has never seen her (her mother) but then she doesn't truly believes that she is 'there' so she wouldn't would she?!

LadyCodofCOdford · 01/06/2006 13:51

blueshoes · 01/06/2006 14:23

zoeb023 · 01/06/2006 15:16

If you don't believe, what do you think people are experiencing?

There was a black cat in one of the houses I gew up in, I used to see it out of the corner of my eye, my Mum did too.

None of the houses I've lived in since have been hosts to anything supernatural though.

FlameBoo · 01/06/2006 15:20

Yup. DD has always had DH's nan (I think its her anyway) looking after her, and since we have moved in here there is someone else too. Cards turn upside down on the mantle piece, toys switch on, the lounge door blows open in a different way to how it does in a breeze (and DD normally looks up and says hello), and someone appears to wake DD up in the middle of the night to play - she gets stroppy, tells me to ask them to go away, and then settles down again.

All feel friendly though, so not bothered.

DH's nan watches over them, and has tucked in DD before now.

Any paranormal investigators out there?
