Bookstart? Someone told me you could go to the local library, tell them you had a little one, and they'd give you a load of freebie books! Is this true?

I received a couple of free bookstart books at dd's 8 month check.

I got a book start book from my health visitor.

We got ours - 4 books in quite nice hemp shopping bag - when I joined dd2 to local library.Depends on your area how they are distributed, I think.

we got ours through dd's nursery when she turned 3. Lovely set of 4 books, crayons and other bits and bobs

We got ours at the 9 (?) month checks with the HV (despite being in different Health Authorities for each one).

Each time it was a lovely cotton bag with a few books, laminated placemat and info about the library etc
