is it real? It says snow white and the seven dwarfs but then it says it has been removed by something. Um sorry am not very technical but dh will kill me if it is a real virus on the puter.

Or is it a wind-up? Or a mumsnetter winding me up?

It appears to be real, Fio, I'm afraid.

Have a look here which contains a link to removal instructions. Having just removed Bug bear last night, their instructions seem easy to follow if you read through and print them ALL off first.

Good luck!

Although if it claims to have been removed, run a virus scan and see what it says.

Thanks soupy

ps how do you do a virus scan? (told you i am rubbish!)

fio2 - well you need virus protection software - like norton antivirus or mcafee on your pc. You can download these directly from their websites but will be required to pay for them.

I'm really slack about checking for viruses but something told me to do it last night and I found 3 on temporary internet files - i.e. noclose, seeker.genf and iestart.gen.c

If the infected attachment was removed before getting to you, then I don't think there's a problem. Your AV software is doing it's job (which is clearly more than I can say about mine!) I don't understand why your DH would be annoyed about it. Sorry, I don't know how you'd scan for viruses - mine is Norton and I just click on the icon to run it.

fio2 · 04/02/2004 10:26

its because hes a man and he likes to moan!

glad my software is doing its job
