Stabalizers.

DS is 6 and we are going to buy him a bike. We can't decide wether it is best to buy one with stabalizers and let him learn like that or if he will never let us take them off.

Will you tell me what worked best for you please.

I wouldn't bother with stabilisers. At 6 your DS will probably be able to get straight onto a 2-wheeler and ride it. I think it's a psychological thing--my DS (5) was convinced he wouldn't be able to ride without them but when one of his girlfriends offered him a go on her very impressive and sparkly new bike, he took just 15 mins to master it!

Wouldnt bother, and maybe buy one with 3-5 gears if possible as he will master it quick with your reassurance that he can do it...run round with him grabbing the back of his T-shirt and let go once you feel its him thats got control of the bike.

My 6 year old took minutes too.Just go for it!
