What did your DH give you as a wedding present? Or what did you wish that he gave you?

Nothing! You get a wedding ring.

Err why would ge fet the bride a present?

Nothing.

Why would the bride and groom give each other gifts on their wedding day?

Is the getting married not enough? The gifts from others not enough? The whole starting out in life together not enough? They've got to buy each other a toaster now too?
