I won a bottle of wine in a school raffle when I was about 8. I was most disappointed!

I also came third in an under 11s poetry contest and 1st in the school's backstroke, but only because all the star swimmers were doing the other strokes. Do they count?

I won a set of Weebles (they wobble, but don't fall down, you know) from "Pippin" magazine when I was about six.

I won £10 on the lottery once.

I won a patchwork cot blanket in a school raffle when I was eleven (had to wait another 16 years before I had a use for the damn thing).

My brother won a satellite TV system (dish, box, installation and a year's free subscription) with a scratch off card in Burger King.

Won a John Craven newsround annual from my local paper (Peterborough Evening Telegraph) when about 10 years old!

Won a couple of tenners on the lottery when it first started. Apart from that, only a goldfish at the fair when I was six. And I didn't really win it to be honest, nice woman just gave it to me anyway. It didn't live very long think was intimidated to death by our two cats who spent hours staring at it. Caught one cat trying to shove the bowl off our sideboard which we thought was an intelligent way to get round their dislike of dipping their paws in water! Still traumatised by father flushing it down the loo instead of the full burial in the garden that I demanded, though...

Oh, just remembered - kept an online pregnancy diary on, ahem, another parenting site and won £50 of Boots vouchers for being "Diary of the Month"

eidsvold · 03/02/2004 18:59

three wheeler travel system (£400) for a letter to the editor in a parenting magazine..

real shock as I started reading the letter and thought it strange this child had the unusual name of my daughter - only to realise that it was my letter - felt like a real div at first

then very very pleased - been brilliant buggy for walking through fields to the pub.
