I have to say congratulations to Debra Veal - the woman who continues rowing the Atlantic after her husband dropped out after two weeks, it took her 3 months in total.

According to the press he developed an overwhelming phobia of the sea. I'm not sure how I'd feel about dh if he did that to me. I'm also not sure if I'd have the courage to carry on alone.

Niall Quinn, for showing us that not all footballers are overpaid, pretty boys who think of themselves, sex and their cars.

Niall is donating all his testimonial money (about £1m) to charity, helping hospitals in this country and in Ireland. His gift to the players after the game will be a form to say they have sponsored a child from a developing country. Apparently they are usually given rather extravagant gifts. R

Mo Molan - very strong independant women who seems undaunted by anything life throws her. Especially as she works within such a 'male' environment

Its probably not very fashionable and we may not agree with all her policies but Margaret Thatcher seems to be a good role model for women. She fought her way to the top in an age that was very against women being independent and in an career that even now is very chauvinistic - no woman has got that far since. Madonna has kept changing and stayed on top which is admirable in its own way. Successful women aren't portrayed very well in the media though are they?

I'm not a royalist but Anne gets my vote, and I love the way she couldn't care less about wearing the same outfit again and again.

Emma Thompson. Great actress, and so nice a person, you can forgive her for that first wedding dress.

Batters, I love Kathy Burke too! I'll never forget Waynetta. R
