hi nutty,
my landlady owns @ 16 houses around great barr and kingstanding- , i have a 3 bed semi with huge garden which i rent for £375 pcm.
shes a great landlady, i never see her, only once every year to sign new agreement, they only ever come round if i need something doing to the house.
i can put you onto her if you like, let me know...

thanx 4 the suggestion of new york cars, im going to suggest this to my other mate ( remember suzanne coley? in our textiles class?) shes our other best mate, it would be fun to go up broad st in one of those cars!!!

OOH - a thread just for me. I would be very grateful if you could put her on to me. A couple of questions though if you don't mind.

  1. Did you have to pay a months rent in advance and a deposit ??

  2. Are you allowed to decorate and stuff like that ??

  3. Does she let them for a long time ?? I don't want to have to move again in the near future ??

We have rented before but sometimes been ripped off.

I'll ask my dad about Broad Street. I think he's dione that before for someone.

I don't remember Suzanne at all. Am beginning to think that maybe we weren't in the same class, who else was in your textiles class ???

nutcracker · 30/01/2004 22:25

I think Demelza, Clair Price and oh i can't remember anymore. What year did you leave again ??? I left in1994

tiredemma · 30/01/2004 22:34

i payed a month in advance but not a deposit aswell, ( as far as i can remeber)

you can do what you like to the house as far as decorating is concerned ( not take walls down obviously) i decorated my livingroom(as i spend so much time sat in it i want it nice!)
and both of the boys rooms have been decorated.
ive been in here 4 years this summer, my friend has been in hers for 5 years this year,
she prefers people to stay in her houses a long time as it saves her the hassle of finding new tenants every 12 months.

dont worry about getting ripped off, they do everything by the book, for example, every 6 months we have a corgi reg plummer come out and check all gas fittings etc
i had a problem with my boiler a few weeks before xmas, within 12 hours i had a brand new boiler fitted.
if your a good tenant then shes good with you, and as i said, i never see her, she rings me every couple of months just to make sure all is ok.
ill give her a call over the weekend and say i know someone who may be interested and then ill give you her number and you can call her.

hope she has something for you which will help you feel a bit better- and get out of that bloody shoebox!!!!!

Cheers Emma, she really does sound like a good landlord, and the rent is o.k. I would definatly look after the property and probably stay there forever. Can afford to pay a month in advance but not a deposit aswell at the mo. But yeah i'm definatly interested. Thanx again.
Sarag Griffiths rings a bell i think.
