Ok, I'm used to the shrews, voles and mice. I shed a tear over all the birds. Every spring, there come the rabbits, and in the summer the occasional mole. But this time, the b*stards have gone TOO FAR!!!

They've brought in a sodding bat!!!! Shock
Angry

This thread makes me realise my cat is getting old...

We have, in the past, had birds, mice, frogs, children's tights and woolly jumpers (the latter were taken from our landlord's house two doors down - v. embarrassing having to take them back!)

catsmother · 19/05/2006 16:13

Mice, rats, voles, stag beetles, large revolting "larvae" type things, huge (but quite stunning) elephant hawkshead moths, baby bunnies, the odd pigeon, all manner of insects, slices of rotten old bread from next door's lawn, birds, socks, rubber bands the postman drops, worms and once, a pair of knickers (presumably stolen from a washing basket somewhere).

Serves me right I suppose for having 5 cats and living on the edge of fields - a cat's paradise !

The worst I heard was when someones cat brought a grassnake into the house. They put it in the bin under the sink in a plastic bag, thinking it was dead. And in the morning it was alive.......argh.

I hate snakes!!!!

BettySpaghetti · 19/05/2006 16:33

Ours over the years have brought in:

earth worms (only when its raining)
carrier bags of rubbish
live mice
a jam tart
elastic bands (loads of them that the postman drops)
a slug

...and a friend's cat brought home a piece of cheese on toast that was still warm

snowleopard · 19/05/2006 16:49

pmsl at jam tart. Now I'm disappointed that I only got a bread roll.

catsmother · 19/05/2006 16:50

I don't think my cats mean to bring in slugs but 2 of them are longhaired and their fur is like velcro, bringing in all sorts of garden debris. Have been stroking them only to have a slug FGS transfer itself onto me !!!

buffythenappyslayer · 19/05/2006 16:53

my puss brought me a live mouse.when i screamed and threw it and her out,she went and sat on the windowsill and ate it!!!yukky cat!!!

BettySpaghetti · 19/05/2006 16:53

catsmother -one of ours used to regularly bring in slugs that way -we nick-named him the Slug Bus

webwoman · 19/05/2006 16:55

I have three cats.
Two of them are too fat to catch anything; the other is too mad.....the only thing she has ever brought in is a whole french stick!
Am v impressed that she figured out how to get it through the catflap though.

jellyjelly · 19/05/2006 16:58

One of my cats ate a plastic band and had hanlf hang in and out its bum, that was gross.

We had a slow worm brought in. i dont think we ever got anything that wasnt an animal.

pooka · 19/05/2006 16:58

I had a friend whose cats managed in a joint effort to bring in a seagull through the cat flap. Took bird up to little girl's bedroom. Apparently was horrific.

galaxy · 19/05/2006 16:59

My stupid cat regularly beings in voles, shrews, mice and birds, the last of which he eats and just leaves the kidneys.

He surpassed himself last week by bringing in a dead water rate. Yuck

DumbledoresGirl · 19/05/2006 17:25

My couple of nancy boys have only ever once managed to produce one mouse and I have had them eight months. And I know there are some whopper rats to be had because I saw one last summer. Or maybe they just eat them and don't bother bringing them home?

2Happy · 19/05/2006 18:01

I really am ROFPMSL at all this!!!
I told dh last night we're getting a ruddy chihuahua (sp?) next time!!
