quick please - can you find these once they've been removed from the deleted folder?

Yes, but you have to go looking for them. Not sure where to find them, but somewhere on the server?

Ooops!! Wish I could help out - but have not got a clue how you would retreive it!!

When you empty the delete folder, the PC just 'forgets' the address of that information. So, your emails are still there but the PC has no idea where and will eventually write over them. Someone who knows what they are doing could find them, but that is definitely not me!

Try looking in c:\windows\all users\application data\identities\ or something similar. In the Identies folder, I have a few folders, all called something weird and long. In these folders is Microsoft\outlook express Have a look in the OE folder for each identity. It's a file full of gibberish but you might strike lucky and fine the text of the email you're looking for. It helps if there's something you can search for (edit then find from the menu bar).

There are certainly a lot of deleted items I thought were deleted in my folders!

If its Microsoft Outlook then you can go to the deleted items folder and click on tools on the menu along the top. There should be an option "Recover Deleted Items". They will all be in there including the date which you deleted them.

M2T - it is Outlook but I went where you suggested and "Recover deleted Items" isn't there. only "Empty deleted folder"

Hmm. Let me have another look at mine. Did you expand the drop-down menu fully? It isn't in view unless you do that.

Yes, i think I expanded it fully, by clicking on the arrows at the bottom of the menu.

Well that's me clean out of ideas I'm afraid.
