I know it has been done before, don't tell me to search the archives please!

How much would you pay a 16 year old girl to babysit 2 children (aged 6 and 3) on a weekday night for 2 hours? Sorry, but those of you living in London probably can't help as I we are in the sticks and wouldn't be paying London rates.

Thanks very much.

I'd probably give her £4 per hour. Plus free biscuits, tea, cola etc.

DG... I live in London and I pay all my babysitters £4 p/hr. Sometimes I remember to leave them snacks, sometimes I don't! Grin

In the lake disrict (so rural!) we always paid £20 for a sit, regardless of hourage unless it was a long night. Also gave a lift home due to no transport links/paid for taxi.

A 17yo we used to use (only stopped because she went away to college) used to charge £4ph pre midnight, and £5ph after the witching hour.

Thanks for that. It looks like I shall offer £4 an hour. Smile

Do you pay £4 for looking after 1 child or do you pay more for looking after 3?
