As you are all prob aware I follow the Gf routine and am also on her website and this was posted for us to see.

Dear Members,

In response to your emails regarding the statement in The Times Newspaper on 9th May 2006. We would like to confirm that neither Gina or her lawyers have put pressure on Mumsnet regarding the criticism that her methods receive on their forums. Gina was forced to seek legal
advice regarding other very serious issues with Mumsnet, and we will in the near future make a public statement as to her reasons for this. It would appear that some Mumsnet members are demanding a ban of the
Gina Ford name on the site. Gina herself would welcome this, as her forthcoming statement will confirm, she has for very valid reasons, no wish to be associated with the Mumsnet site.

oh SG that perfect parent link is hilarious. I'm glad I saw tclb.com website this morning (thanks annclough), worth reading both.

JoolsToo · 12/05/2006 10:30

Grin SaintGeorge - how did you find that?!

Moomin · 12/05/2006 10:32

i agree with what ruty said a while back - there MUST be a journo who would like to write about this whole sorry affair. and there must be a way round writing it so they don't suffer the wrath of forldermort or cloughy (as i affectionately like to call her now i know her)

one thing i've been wondering about is the role of mothercare in all this. clbb is a best seller and lots of other stuff by gf besides. mumsnet now features at the front of the mothercare catalogue. could this get so bad that mothercare decide mumsnet is too 'risky' to promote given the attitude of gf who makes them a lot of money???

also pmsl imagining a daily mail write-up of all this, painting us to be filthy-mouthed harlots who leave their kids on pterol station forecourts, rob grapes from tescos and discuss fanny froth

SaintGeorge · 12/05/2006 10:36

Custy posted it yesterday, the recreated version. Grab it quick before the lawyers see it Grin

ruty · 12/05/2006 10:39

surely Private Eye would be interested in all of this?

JoolsToo · 12/05/2006 10:39

I have - tried to post but I have to become her 'friend' first! Grin

hunkermunker · 12/05/2006 10:40

Oh wow. So if I'm googlable with MN, then perhaps I should sue MN Towers because there is filth on this website.

The fact I post most of it...well, that's irrelevant, right?!

Grin
Tortington · 12/05/2006 10:41

jools you have to create your own space first then subscibe to the perfect parent blog to comment

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 12/05/2006 10:43

I wondered about Private Eye, not sue how big their mother readership is though. The do have good libel lawyers :o

Was ginababe GF? I never understood that, if so, some of her own messages are still on here- and she calls herself a witch in one of them! She should sue herself if so!!

morningpaper · 12/05/2006 10:45

I love Private Eye

I quite fancy Ian Hislop

He always seems so LOVELY

Doesn't he have lots of children?

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 12/05/2006 10:46

\link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=5&threadid=29202#695929\here we go} ginababe- who I thought WAS GF, calling GF a witch. Publically.

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 12/05/2006 10:47

I fancy Ian Hislop as well, much to dh's disgust ("but how?" is the sort of thing he says).

Bugsy2 · 12/05/2006 10:48

I think PE would be well up for it. They did alot of coverage on the MMR stuff.

soapbox · 12/05/2006 10:48

IIRC JJ Mumsnet did confirm that ginababe was indeed Ms Ford!

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 12/05/2006 10:50

Well I missed THE thread on all of that, but perhaps she should pay foot anstey to send mnet towers a letter regarding her own witch post then.

kipper22 · 12/05/2006 10:54

beforelooking at her website i had no real opinion either way - if her methods work gor some then fair enough. BUT £40 to be able to read parts of the site?! wtf for?!!

soapbox · 12/05/2006 10:56

Ah but JJ - she didn't use profanities in that post, so that's okay isn;t it!

beety · 12/05/2006 10:56

what name did Gina Ford post under when she did come on the site ? I think there was a bit of a ding dong about something that I cannot recall now...... It was nearly two years ago, (during the summer camping weekend)

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 12/05/2006 10:56

Is it forty quid? I'd assumed it was free, you just had to register. Gosh that's quite steep for a website. I've just rejoined some autism specific websites, either free or max 20 quid (includes a free book in one case).

Jimjamskeepingoffvaxthreads · 12/05/2006 10:57

ginababe beety- follow my link below.

soapbox · 12/05/2006 10:57

beety - it was ginababe as referred to by JJ a bit down the thread.

morningpaper · 12/05/2006 10:59

\link{http://www.mumsnet.com/SearchTalkArch?stext=&match=all&topicid=0&rndox=11877559152650441&aname=ginababe&searchtype=keyword\She seemed to withdraw most of her messages}

soapbox · 12/05/2006 10:59

Come on you meanies - surely £40 is cheap for a Ginababy? An amazing amy or ally costs about £35 and a baby born about the same - and they are no where near as good - you've got to take the batteries out before they shut the flip up:)

beety · 12/05/2006 10:59

yes i saw that link, however that is not confirmed as Gina??or is it?? But I thought that the huge argument was confirmed as Gina and was that person Ginababe too? sorry being dense here. I guess there is no link to that thread?

beety · 12/05/2006 11:00

my dd got a baby born for @20 for her birthday!!!
