TMI WARNING

Am going swimming this evening and decided in my infinate wisdon do do my bikini line. Except then, as I was doing it, I decided that I may as well do the rest. A nice change. Who was I kidding!

I left it on to long. I washed it off after 6 minutes, but I seemed to have gotten everywhere (IYKWIM) And it is burning and stinging. Have sat in the bath which helped a little but then I went for a pee and OMFG did it hurt. Stung like hell.

WTF can I do about it??

Was Immac/Veet Hair removal cream.

(On the plus side it did the job)

TIA xxx

Got any aloe vera gel/cream ?? Might cool it down a bit - otherwise no idea !!

Ouch - poor you !

moondog · 10/05/2006 15:44

Blimey
Thank the Lord above you still have your lady bits!
Cool bath or shower. No soap.

moondog · 10/05/2006 15:45

Wee in water

BadIdeaArgghhh · 10/05/2006 15:47

Done the cool bath as soon as I got out it started hurting though. Have got hand cream but I dont think thats suitable for down there either Blush

I am so stupid.

Note - It is not a good idea to close your legs and start walking around when covered in hair removal cream, it gets everywhere ShockBlush

(Thank you MNHQ for not taking the name changing facility away! Grin)

God you gonna be itching so bad for a while now!!!! Blush

Esmummy · 10/05/2006 15:51

Grin sorry no advise, just thought it was funny ! EEEEK the chlorine might not help tonight.

beckybrastraps · 10/05/2006 15:52

Whilst weeing, pour a jug of cold water over the "affected area". Recommended to me when stitches were infected. A blessed relief!

BadIdeaArgghhh · 10/05/2006 15:52

Its burning and stinging rather than itching iyswim.

Its not the skin on the outside, its more the inside bit Blush

Am sitting on a pillow Sad

beckybrastraps · 10/05/2006 15:52

Would not go swimming!

beckybrastraps · 10/05/2006 15:53

Could you face phoning a pharmacy to see if they could suggest anything?

Twinkie1 · 10/05/2006 15:54

Yogurt you think that would cool it down???

Or stick a tube of savlon in the fridge and slap it on liberally!!

zippitippitoes · 10/05/2006 15:54

bicarbonate of soda dissolved on luke warm water?

painkillers?

I'm not sure that anything is very suitable....put some pants in the freezer

BadIdeaArgghhh · 10/05/2006 15:55

How embarrassing would that be Blush

I would rant at the veet company, except it clearly states on the can that its not to be used for 'intimate areas' Blush Blush

Serves me right for getting carried away Shock

beckybrastraps · 10/05/2006 15:59

Well, I thought phone one pharmacy, anonymously (!), then get the stuff at a different one. Actually, I would get dh to do it for me!

zippitippitoes · 10/05/2006 16:01

ask on belaf of a friend..chapsmum usually has good ideas for this sort of emergency

NotActuallyAMum · 10/05/2006 16:08

Tell them it's your daughter who's done it Grin

Seriously you have my sympathies - I once left some hair remover on my top lip for too long and I know how painful that was

BadIdeaArgghhh · 10/05/2006 16:12

Have found an old tube of canastan?

Have put moisteriser on the outside bit, its just the inside that hurts now.

DH thinks it is hilarious Angry

Have put pants in the freezer (wasnt sure if you were joking or not though Blush)

And have to go out and pick kids up in a minute.

Esmummy · 10/05/2006 16:15

LMAO at pants in the freezer

zippitippitoes · 10/05/2006 16:20

I was being serious in as far as I could think of anything!

drink some lemon barley water to ensure non stinging wee

a barley poultice?

Harpsichordcarrier · 10/05/2006 16:23

Sudocrem fixes many things
also, bag of oats run under the tap in the bath can be soothing. What about some Piriton?

frumpygrumpy · 10/05/2006 16:32

This sounds like something I'd do!!! Grin

What about metanium for nappy rash? It says "and for other sore skin conditions.......

Maybe tomorrow you could pop on some antiseptic too, the pores could get a little infected. Cool showers. When I get my bikin line waxed they always say no soap, no hot baths or showers for 24 hours. I'm sure you won't be! Good luck!

zippitippitoes · 10/05/2006 16:34

aloe vera?

calsworld · 10/05/2006 16:39

I'm sorry - I have no advice whatsoever, but for the first time in days, I can't stop giggling...I promise its not that I have no sympathy - I really, really do as it sounds like something I would do....but OMG, have you got your pants out the freezer yet and are they working?

I think cool bath, cool savlon and cool pants sounds like the best short term solution using everyday items, then I reckon your idea about ringing one pharmacy and going to another, whilst using daughter / friend / mother (?) as an excuse!

Hope you find relief soon!

cataloguequeen · 10/05/2006 16:41

Yikes..oh you poor thing...I suggest Vaseline it works on most sore bits I'v encountered!! Grin
