I work in Manchester town centre and get the Metrolink tram home. Man Utd are playing Celtic tonight in a testimonial game for Roy Keane. Town if FULL of drunk football supporters singing, shouting & generally wrecking the peace. And guess which trams they'll all be getting to the ground? That's right - the one I get! I've got no other way of getting home either.
WHY do some football fans have to get so drunk they become abusive & frighten the rest of us humans? Angry

I am currently sat by my open window gazing at the lovely cobbled area outside, the sun twinking on the trees ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....then the peace is shattered by oway oway oway oway UNITED cha cha cha aldjflajdgljadgljadlgjasdlfj lalalalaalalaalalalala etc etc

Pah.

IMO fans should be breathalised (sp?) before entering a match. If they test + for even a drop of booze they should not be allowed entry to a match. I say the same to dh, why does a football match involve booze..???

The above is impossible though...sadly..

I used to work in Manchester and take the tram home and occasions like this I hated..Sad.

Ah yes I know the feeling. I cycle through Fulham on my way home and oh boy do I know about it when the football is on. Luckily I leave work quite early so miss most of the drunkeness etc.

This has been going on since 2pm and kick off isn't till 7:45! They'll have paid shedloads of money for a ticket for a game they're probably not going to remember. Madness.

Bet Arsenal fans wouldn't behave like that!!!

DP said Sunday was lovely - the atmosphere at Highbury for the last game was 'beautiful' - think it was more to do with tottenham all having the squits and not qualifying for europe next door which made it really special though!!!

aprilgirl1 · 09/05/2006 16:28

dont talk to me about football ive had to rearrange my scan times for the alan shearer testimonial.... football rules our house and it drives me insane, hate it it make grown men pathetic!!

Gingerbear · 09/05/2006 16:34

Ahh, football......

My DH watched a world cup game in the hospital room whilst I was in labour.

DD and I were petrified by Stockport supporters who crammed onto the Meadowhall train as it stopped at Rotherham, police eventually took them off the train after it was stood in the station for 40 minutes Angry

I have often said that I would rather pull out all my toenails and fingernails than watch a game of football.
