researching family tree...HELP IM STUCK!!!!

im hoping that someone else has done their family tree and can offer some advice as ive come to a complete halt!!
im originally from hull and now live in wales and ive been trying to research my grandads side of the family.ive got back to 1541 on my grans side,but on my grandads side,im totally stuck!i havent been able to find out anything about his parents,not even their names!i found today through genesreunited,that his mothers maiden name was kelly,but no firts name for her.and def nothing on his dads name.ive asked relatives that are still in hull,but they dont know anything either.
what is the best way to find out the things i need?all the rest of my tree i had no problems with,just my grandad!!

Buffy - that info is logged on the LDS site \link{http://www.familysearch.org\here} just type your grandfathers name and year of birth and it comes up - it says no children though so they have that wrong!

i went to ainthorpe and then to syd smith.my friend still lives down bristol and anotehr that used to live down bristol has just bought a house in danube.omg,cant believe you live near where im from!!

I did Eastfield then Kingston, mum lives near Eastfield school. DH is from Anlaby.

This area was the best compromise distance wise between the two.

I might know your friend, especially if she has school age kids. Bristol was on my Betterware round.

no,she hasnt got any kids,she lives with her parents and sister.they live at 121.theyve lived there for donkeys years.had some friends from syd that went to eastfield aswell.(nichola stow,emma huitt,yvonne emerson) they all lived just off anlaby high road (cant remember the name of the road!)ah,yes i can,westfield road!!just came to me whilst i was on the phone!!

Dad's name Dave - he is my mum's decorator. Trying to remember the Mum's name. Definately one girl, one boy, both younger than me.

i cant remeber nickys brothers name!i remember going to their house and he hid behind tthe front door curtain and scared the living poo out of me!!

Can you recall the house? It would be to the right of a passageway through to the back tenfoot. We were on the left of the passage.
