And will it damage anything if I do - someone told me that I can free up space by doing this.

Tools, Options then click the button for 'clear cookies'.

Won't damage anything, but you will find that some sites might not recognise you anymore and you will have to log back in.

So if you have an account name and password saved for Tesco.com for example, you will have to fill that info in again.

Sorry that should be Tools, Internet Options.

thnaks St G - there is the option to delete cookies or delete files. Is it the cookies one - what will the other one do?

Just try cookies for now.

The files one is a bit more in depth. Still not likely to do damage though.

Files will be stuff like pictures that you have looked at and snapshots of web pages.

If you want to see what is there you can click the 'settings' button and then there is a 'view files' option.

\link{http://www.ccleaner.com/\this} is a useful tool - its quick and it deletes cookies, history whatever you tell it to basically!
