My mate has got a leaflet from a company offering £2 per time for stuffing envelopes. You send a cheque for £15.99 which is refunded after you have done your first 10, then you are paid weekly according to what you do.
Has anyone done this? There must be a catch, if not I will have to multi task, typing and stuffing at the same time! I reckon if I can do 400 a week for the next 12 years I will manange to pay my debts off

if it sounds too good to be true then it is. Especially schemes like this. DOn't be sucked in.

The general rule is not to get involved with schemes where you have to pay up front. They should be the ones paying YOU. I don't know if this is true in this particular company's case but often the work you do will be rejected for not being 'perfect' and you will end up out of pocket.

Yes it's a con. You pay up front then you "stuff" the envelopes of the people who reply to your ads to stuff envelopes from what I remember.

There used to be a homeworking con website somewhere listing all the types which were frauds - I'll see if I can dig it up.

Here you go: Internet Homeworking Directory - it lists genuine ways to earn money from home with the pros and cons, and also has a scam page which lists "opportunities" like these.

I can almost certainly geruntee that it's a con. When we were really broke, afew years back, i tried a couple of these ads and got well conned.
